SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Fresh on the heels of the
controversy surrounding Carl's Jr.'s latest television ad featuring a
soaped-up scantily-clad Paris Hilton, Santa Monica-based independent record
label HUM Recordings, a subdivision of HUM Music, today announced plans to
release a full-length version of the accompanying song: a punked up Modern
Rock version of Cole Porter's classic "I Love Paris."
The new version of the song, arranged by HUM's Rob Lopez and sung by Eleni
Mandell, has been generating major buzz on Paris-related websites, chat rooms,
and fan bases throughout the country since the ad began airing last week. The
public response has been so overwhelming that the song has taken on a life of
it's own, prompting HUM Recordings to draft plans for an immediate commercial
release. Commented HUM Creative Director and Owner Jeff Koz, "This is an
exciting opportunity to ignite HUM Recordings with a song that already has
national airtime, public awareness and demand. There's already crossover by
directors between music videos and commercials -- this is a chance for music
to cross over as well. As a record label that works every day with
advertising agencies on music for their commercials, HUM is uniquely
positioned to help both major and developing artists with opportunities to get
exposure that they would not normally have access to. It's the logical next
step in the evolution of music used in commercials."
The debut of the "I Love Paris ... " full-length single is the second
commercially available release by HUM Recordings -- coming on the heels of
their critically acclaimed Golden Slumbers compilation project featuring
industry greats such as: Smokey Robinson, Phil Collins, Dave Matthews, and
Michael McDonald to name a few. Prior to these releases, HUM has had repeated
success with their branding strategy of offering clients full-length versions
of their distinctive commercial music as a value-added source of promotion,
working with such distinguished companies as Toyota, MSN, Pepsi, and iTunes.
