17- and 19-Inch Displays' Design and Features are Ideal for Education, SOHO
and Consumer Use
ATLANTA, June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- ViewSonic(R) Corp. introduced three
additions to its VA Series of LCD monitors at the National Education
Computing Conference (NECC) 2007, including the 19-inch VA916, a
traditional 4:3 display, and the 17-inch VA1716w and 19-inch VA1916w --
both widescreen displays that bring panoramic viewing for multiple
documents and HD video content to the desktop. The dramatic increase in
viewing area on the widescreen allows users to navigate between multiple
windows and applications in less time and with greater ease, expanding
virtual desktop space without sacrificing physical desk real estate.
"These latest displays reflect ViewSonic's ongoing commitment to
meeting the needs of the education market," said Jeff Volpe, vice president
of marketing, ViewSonic Americas. "Our VA Series of displays deliver the
features and performance to make the most of a customer's technology
budget."
All three displays are Windows Vista(TM) Basic Certified, and
incorporate a textured cabinet with thin-bezel design and a clean cable
management system. Each display also includes additional features:
* ViewSonic VA1716w: With 250 nits of brightness (typ), 1440x900 native
resolution, 500:1 contrast ratio (typ) and an affordable price point of
$209 (estimated street price), the ViewSonic VA1716w display is an
economical widescreen LCD that delivers exceptional desktop performance.
This display is available in July and is ideal for the corporate guru,
government economist or productive student.
* ViewSonic VA1916w: Shipping in August at $229 (ESP), the ViewSonic
VA1916w display offers a 1440x900 native resolution and 2000:1 dynamic
contrast ratio (typ) for crisp text and bright images. This, combined
with the widescreen aspect ratio, is ideal for desktop entertainment and
business applications -- from panoramic 3-D game play and watching IPTV
to viewing multiple spreadsheets and comparing homework.
* ViewSonic VA916: The 19-inch ViewSonic VA916 features a 4:3 aspect
ratio, 2000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (typ) and 1280x1024 native
resolution to deliver remarkably bright and rich colors. The VA916 will
be available in August for $239 (ESP).
Both 19-inch displays, the ViewSonic VA916 and VA1916w, offer a high
Dynamic Contrast ratio, a technology that dims the backlights to achieve
darker black levels and better overall contrast and is ideal for
entertainment applications. These displays also come equipped with
ClearMotiv(TM) 5ms response times and 300 nits of brightness (typ) for
smooth, broadcast-quality, full-motion video and are ideal for gamers,
small or home office users and business professionals seeking a unique
combination of lifestyle enjoyment and workplace productivity.
The ViewSonic VA Series displays will be sold through authorized
ViewSonic retailers, resellers, distributors and mail order outlets, and
are backed by a three-year limited warranty on parts and labor.
From June 24-27, ViewSonic is showcasing its education-focused product
portfolio, including desktop displays, LCD TVs, projectors and digital
signage solutions, in booth 456 at NECC located in Atlanta's Georgia World
