- SkyBridge Capital and Its Underlying Managers Now Have Approximately $1.1
Billion Under Management -
NEW YORK, July 10 /PRNewswire/ -- SkyBridge Capital, LLC, which
provides strategic capital to talented managers who are starting new hedge
funds, today announced that Scott Prince, a former partner at Eton Park
Capital Management and Goldman Sachs, has joined the firm as a Managing
Partner. Mr. Prince will lead the New York-based firm along with Managing
Partner Anthony Scaramucci, SkyBridge Capital's founder. In addition, Evan
Wein has joined SkyBridge Capital's management committee as a Senior
Partner. Messrs. Prince and Wein bring to SkyBridge Capital more than 40
years of experience managing large- scale money management and trading
operations.
"Over the past year and a half following the launch of SkyBridge
Capital, we have provided seven new hedge funds with nearly $330 million in
strategic capital, and these new funds have raised approximately $800
million in additional capital," said Mr. Scaramucci. "With Scott and Evan
now on board, we will build upon these accomplishments. These two highly
respected financial services professionals will immediately enhance our
already strong risk management and due diligence capabilities. They also
bring to SkyBridge a pipeline of talented managers and numerous
institutional relationships that will further differentiate our platform."
Prior to joining SkyBridge, Mr. Prince was a partner at Eton Park
Capital Management from its launch in 2004 through December 2006. At Eton
Park, he was global head of trading and the fund's derivatives business,
and was responsible for building out its global trading platform and risk
infrastructure. Mr. Prince was Co-head of Equities Trading and Co-head of
Global Equity Derivatives at Goldman Sachs through 2004. He became a
Goldman Sachs partner in 1998, and served on the firm's Finance Committee,
the Equity Division's Risk Committee and the Equity Division's Operating
Committee.
Mr. Wein was Managing Director and Head of Global High Yield Sales at
Merrill Lynch, where he worked from 1982 to 2000, and a member of the
firm's Fixed Income Management Committee. Subsequent to Merrill Lynch, Mr.
Wein oversaw the investment strategies at two money management firms he
founded: at Coventry Capital, LLC, he oversaw the fund's Managed Option and
Fixed Income portfolios; and, at Lucerne Partners, LLC, he managed a
high-yield debt and equity fund.
"SkyBridge has distinguished itself as a leading provider of strategic
capital to new hedge funds, in terms of both the amount of capital it has
allocated to best-in-class managers over the past year-and-a-half, and the
business building, investment support and risk management capabilities it
contributes to those managers to promote their growth and success," said
Mr. Prince. "I am excited to join Anthony Scaramucci and the entire
SkyBridge team of experienced professionals to pursue the significant
opportunity before us."
Mr. Wein said, "SkyBridge has demonstrated that, as the hedge fund
industry evolves, the most talented early-stage managers will partner only
with those who provide valuable strategic services and not simply seed
capital. The firm has developed a unique business model that does just that
- - it bridges the gap between hedge fund investors and talented, alpha-
generating new managers. I am pleased to become part of the SkyBridge team
at this juncture."
