CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- As the leading
competitive carrier for business customers in the region, US LEC Corp.
(Nasdaq: CLEC), a super-regional telecommunications carrier providing
integrated voice, data and Internet services to businesses and enterprise
organizations throughout the Eastern United States, announced that it now
serves more than 5,000 medium and large businesses throughout the State of

Jacksonville and Tampa as the first markets in which to introduce its new
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services.
US LEC also announced that it recently won the contract to provide local
calling services for the United States Postal Service in seven Southern
states. The carrier is currently supporting 47 major distribution sites for
the United States Postal Service in locations across Florida, Georgia,
Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
"Customers continue to choose US LEC for reliability, value and our
'customer comes first' philosophy," said Fred Mannara, senior vice president
