New Student Survey on Abebooks.com reveals a link between book buying
and voting preference among students.
VICTORIA, BC, July 28 /PRNewswire/ - Abebooks.com, the world's largest
online marketplace for books, released results of their Student Survey today
that show differences in how male and female students choose books.
When asked if they would buy a book because it was recommended by Senator
John Kerry or by President George W. Bush, more female students would buy a
book recommended by Kerry, while more male students would buy a book
recommended by Bush.

or not our survey mirrors current polls there is valuable information here
about student voters and who they trust."
The Abebooks.com Student Survey results were gathered from over 2,000
students aged 16 to 30, during June and July on the TextBook Central page at
Abebooks.com (http://www.abebooks.com/Textbooks/).
Other findings from the Abebooks.com Student Survey include:
- 60% of students surveyed believe their life would make a better novel
than reality TV show;
- The most popular choice in literary roommate for male and female
respondents was Bridget Jones, followed by Frodo Baggins, and
Virginia Woolf;
- 80% of students who spend over $1,000 a year on books have sex more
often than students spending less;
- When asked what they would most like to have tomorrow, 11% of
students chose new shoes while a whopping 50% chose a "new lease on
life";
- 81% of students have bought at least one used book in their life;
40% of students resell books once they are finished with them;
