(Founder/Owner of Detroit Rocks! in Royal Oak, MI) just returned from a
store where he received roaring applause. As a well-known musician,
Dempster is accustomed to a jubilant reception, but this time it was not
for his music, but for his T-Shirt.
Dempster was wearing one of his company's 'Save Detroit!' T-Shirts
featuring Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick behind prison bars. With the
beleaguered Detroit Mayor's legal woes now including jail time and the
threat of more jail time, the T-Shirts are more popular than ever.
The rest of the day saw similar reactions to the T-Shirt. An otherwise
routine morning of running errands culminated in Dempster leading a small
convoy of people eager to get their own 'Save Detroit' T-shirt to his store
to purchase 'Save Detroit' T-Shirts.
"In my 30 plus years designing and selling shirts, I have never had a
shirt that generated this much international attention," said Dempster from
his Royal Oak store. Even a visit to the prestigious PGA Championship at
Oakland Hills led to a reception usually reserved for a hole in one.
"People actually left the PGA so they could follow me to the store and buy
T-Shirts. This is just crazy," commented Dempster.
Dempster, all too familiar with having a hit on his hand, has ordered
his production department to stock their inventory with an unprecedented
amount of shirts. "We're getting calls from all over the place and our web

clock," said Dempster.
Robert Dempster's love for Detroit and its people and future is what
makes this T Shirt connect. "Everyone just wants to move on and get back to
revitalizing our great city. If my T-Shirts help in that process, I am
absolutely thrilled," said Dempster.
