Italian Grand Turismo Champ Maurizio Mediani Joins Team
REDWOOD, Calif., and TORONTO, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Ferrari Silicon
Valley/and R. Ferri Competizione continue their successful teaming as they
head to Ontario, Canada for the Grand Prix of Mosport for Round 8 of the
season.
Ferrari Ontario and Ferrari Silicon Valley, along with official
corporate team member Advanced Micro Devices, have competed at Lime Rock
Park and the Generac 500, where Toni Vilander took the pole position. This
historic teaming of Canadian and American interests is a first and brings
acclaim to two successful Ferrari organizations. The team is managed by
Risi Competizione and features the Italian GT Champ Maurizio Mediani and
Toni Vilander, competing in a Ferrari 430GT.

Recognized as the world's premier professional sports car Championship,
ALMS has one of the richest racing traditions in motor sports, including
the 24 hours of Le Mans. They will also compete in the Petit Le Mans
(September 30) and Laguna Seca (October 21).
Top Drivers Go to Canada
Team Silicon Valley will continue its season with drivers Maurizio
Mediani of Italy and Toni Markus Vilander of Kankaanpaa.
* Mediani is a 2006 Sara GT Italian Gran Turismo Champ (GT2), and winner
of the 2004 Italian Championship 1st place -- Imola race (Ferrari 360 GT
-- Team JMB) and 3rd place -- Homestead race (Ferrari 360 GT -- Team JMB
USA)
* Vilander holds six wins in Italian F3 racing and numerous Italian
Championship podium spots. He began racing karts in 1987 and earned
"best Rookie" driver in 2002 for the Italian Championship.
