OTTAWA, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ - The world's top privacy experts are
meeting in Montreal next week to explore emerging new threats to privacy.
The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada is hosting the 29th
International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners, the
key international privacy event each year, from September 25th to 28th.
Workshops will address privacy in the context of public safety,
globalization, Radio Frequency Identification, children and the Internet,
location-based tracking, data mining, Internet crime and many other topics.
Leading international experts on all of these topics are attending the
conference.
Speakers include US Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, who
will give a keynote address on privacy and public security; Google global
privacy counsel Peter Fleischer; author and privacy and security expert
Bruce Schneier, prominent consumer privacy advocate Katherine Albrecht as
well as global privacy campaigners such as Simon Davies of Privacy
International.
