Santa Fe Hotels and Inns Offering Special Discounts for ARTfeast Long Weekend
SANTA FE, N.M., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Santa Fe, New Mexico's 9th annual
ARTfeast, is once again the premier vacation destination for collectors and
connoisseurs interested in a winter weekend of art, wine and food. The Santa
Fe Gallery Association is hosting this long winter weekend of activities
Thursday, February 23rd through Sunday, February 26th. The pristine beauty
and warm ambience of Santa Fe's magnificent winter landscape are the backdrop
for special exhibitions and events celebrating the range and depth of the
region's fine and culinary arts.

"Last year more than 2,000 people from all over the country as well as
many foreign visitors attended ARTfeast," said Mary Harbour, president of
ARTsmart and one of the main organizers for the 2006 events. "We expect
attendance this year to exceed those figures."
The 2006 ARTfeast includes the following events:
THURSDAY, FEB 23
Contemporary Encounter, 7:00 pm
SITE Santa Fe
SITE Santa Fe, Director/Curator discusses Cai Guo-Qiang's explosive
installation, Inopportune, followed by SITE educators leading
participants on an intimate exploration of the exhibition.
FRIDAY, FEB 24
Edible Art Tour (EAT), 5:00 pm
Downtown Santa Fe & Canyon Rd.
Enormously popular, the Edible Art Tour is one of Santa Fe's most
festive events. More than thirty of Santa Fe's top galleries partner
with well known local restaurants to offer a night of art and gourmet
food. Participants can view and purchase fine works of art from the
galleries' special exhibits and enjoy samplings of the great foods from
Santa Fe's finest restaurants.
SATURDAY, FEB 25
Art of Wine, a Tasting, 3:00 pm
Awakening Museum
Visitors can sample an array of wines from the world's classic wine
growing regions in the inspired setting of the Awakening Museum.
Gourmet Dinner & Children's Plate Auction, 6:00 pm
El Centro de Santa Fe
Created by Santa Fe's master chefs, participants can savor a multi-
course gourmet dinner paired with a selection of outstanding wines.
Ticket holders can bid on plates delightfully designed and painted by
Santa Fe's public school students.
SUNDAY, FEB 26
Artists' Brunch & Silent Auction, 12:00 pm
Eldorado Hotel
Ticket holders meet and mingle with Santa Fe's top artists and gallery
owners, while enjoying a lavish champagne buffet created by Master Chef
Martin Rios. Funds raised in the silent auction support art and artful
experiences at Santa Fe public schools.
Art of Home Tours, 2:00 pm - 4:30pm
Santa Fe Properties, exclusive affiliate of Christie's Great Estates,
has selected some of Santa Fe's most artistic and elegant homes to
tour. Ten percent of the proceeds from art sales in these homes will
go to Santa Fe's public school art programs.
