MIAMI, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Small Business Administration
(SBA) announced today that it will close one of its temporary Loan Assistance
Centers on October 19 at 5:00 p.m. The Center scheduled to close is located
at 1490 N. W. 3rd Avenue, Suite 111 in Miami and the operating hours are from
8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. However, our temporary Loan Assistance Center
location in the Miami-Dade Government Center at 101710 SW 211th Street remains
open weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., until further notice.
"If you had any damage caused by Hurricane Katrina or Rita, we hope you
will come to the Center and personally meet with an SBA Loan Officer. Our
staff will be glad to answer any questions about the disaster loan program,
give you an application, and provide any extra help you may need or want in
completing your application," said Frank Skaggs, Director of SBA Field
Operations Center - East.
Victims that sustained damage due to Hurricane Katrina or Rita in the
declared primary counties of Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe and contiguous
counties of Collier, Hendry and Palm Beach in the State of Florida are
eligible to apply for these SBA disaster loans.
"We also want to express our thanks to the staff of the 1490 N W. 3rd
Avenue facility for providing the space for the Loan Assistance Center. The
many courtesies extended to our staff have been greatly appreciated," Skaggs
added.
After the Loan Assistance Center close, applications and program
information will still be available by calling the SBA Disaster Assistance
National Customer Service Center toll-free at 1-800-659-2955 or 1-800-877-8339
for the hearing impaired. Completed applications should be returned to the
U.S. Small Business Administration, National Processing and Disbursement
Center - 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX 76155.
The deadline for Hurricane Katrina applications for physical damage is
November 29, 2005; the deadline for economic injury applications is June 14,
2006.
The deadline for Hurricane Rita applications for physical damage is
December 5, 2005; the deadline for economic injury applications is July 5,
2006.
