New Handheld Additions Include Tetris Battle, Texas Hold'em,
Right Brain Paradise, Soccer Mania and President
HONOLULU, Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Blue Lava Wireless, a leading developer
and publisher of mobile games, today introduced 12 new games at CTIA WIRELESS
I.T. & Entertainment 2004 in San Francisco, Calif. The variety of engaging,
easy-to-play titles include Tetris Battle, Tetris Puzzle, Yucatan, AltEarth,
TicTacTics, QuadLinks, Mobile Rally, Right Brain Paradise, Texas Hold'em,
Soccer Mania and President. Company executives are demonstrating the new
titles at Blue Lava Wireless' booth (#620-C) at CTIA through Oct. 27, 2004.
"Millions have downloaded Blue Lava Wireless games due to the appealing
gameplay and fun challenges found in all our titles," said Henk B. Rogers,
President of Blue Lava Wireless. "The 12 games we introduce today continue to
build our legacy as one of the most popular providers of simple yet addictive
games for mobile phones."
Tetris Battle
This variation of the international puzzle phenomenon allows gamers to
play Tetris against other players in real-time; thus creating the feel of a
live interactive challenge. The goal is to score the most points in two
minutes and strong play results in well-deserved rewards. There is also a
unique viewing option that enables gamers to watch battles among other
players.
Tetris Puzzle
Tetris Puzzle is a subscription service that delivers new puzzles to
subscribers on a daily and weekly basis. The puzzles, designed by recognized
puzzle master Scott Kim, range in difficulty and feature rules from both
Tetris and Tetris Cascade. Additionally, there will be an amusing riddle of
the week.
Yucatan
In the tradition of his classic multimillion-seller Shanghai (aka
"Mah-Jongg Solitaire"), comes Brodie Lockard's newest creation, Yucatan.
Shanghai has been a habit for casual gamers of all ages since 1986; Yucatan
reflects the current craze of Mayan-themed puzzle games (e.g., Zuma, Jewel
Quest). But its original gameplay sets it apart. Instead of the well-worn
"move three colored pieces together" strategy, Yucatan offers players a way to
solve puzzles that is fresh, yet still simple: remove all the pieces,
following a rainbow color order.
AltEarth
AltEarth asks the question: what if asteroids never wiped out the
dinosaurs? In this fantasy role-playing game, the hero is a Sapien based in
a dangerous and carnivorous planet. The Sapien species is under attack from
both dinosaurs and the Thals. Brave players must explore, battle, quest and
solve puzzles to defeat the enemies and save the world. Developed by
Mobicore.
TicTacTics
TicTacTics is played on a 4x4 board and each player has a deck of 30 cards
-- with each card containing a 3-card pattern and a certain value. Players
take turns placing their deck's top card on an open grid space. Cards placed
in matching patterns on one or more cards in play earn the pattern's value;
multiple matches multiply the score. The game ends when the board is full or
a player runs out of cards. Single player mode offers the chance to unlock
new decks. TicTacTic fanatics can also play their friends online.
QuadLinks
QuadLinks offers gamers the fun and challenging task of managing colorful
orbs on an 8x8 playfield. Players must rotate and group like colors into
blocks of 4 as quickly as possible to make them disappear. Only the most
skilled players will consistently rotate and attach other free orbs to clear
more space and earn more points. Special orbs that act as obstacles also come
into play- taking the time to clear them will grant you special rewards!
Newer orbs will appear with increasing speed and accelerating difficulty.
Master the orbs or the game ends. Developed by Dual.
Mobile Rally
G-Mode Rally accelerates the driver's heartbeat with realistic and fast
racing gameplay. The game consists of nine challenging dirt courses, which
require careful maneuvering. Players may choose from two modes: Championship,
where drivers race opponents to the finish line; and Time Attack, where the
best time is the ultimate prize.
Experience the speed and excitement of world-class rally racing. Use
skillful control and tight drifting techniques to take on nine unique off-road
courses. Conquer all the tracks in Championship Mode, or beat the clock in
Time Attack Mode!
Right Brain Paradise
Right Brain Paradise may be the most brain-stimulating mobile game ever
created. The game is designed to test the right hemisphere of the brain,
which controls intuition, inspiration, originality and visual imagery. Play
through 9 fun, thought-provoking levels, such as quickly counting the number
of animals in a group and instantly selecting the same picture as in the
sample to test your mental capacity. If you can successfully complete all
9 levels, you'll be rewarded your IQ level! Get ready for the best brain-
teasing game anywhere! Developed by G-Mode.
Texas Hold'em
Professional poker players and amateurs everywhere will meet in the mobile
version of the world's most popular poker game -- Texas Hold'em. No poker
face is needed in this version, but all the elements of the hottest sport on
television remain in the mobile game. Developed by Mobile Pioneer.
Soccer Mania
Soccer Mania delivers a true-to-life soccer experience with full squads of
11 detailed and ready-to-run players. A league of skilled international teams
combined with strictly enforced regulation rules and a smart computer opponent
creates an authentic on-field experience. Players who lack foot wizardry may
quickly see the ball at the back of their net. Developed by Dual.
President
Ace aspires to be the best "President" card player in the world. Players
travel around the world and try to outthink opponents with the goal of getting
rid of all of one's cards. Players may also challenge up to three highly-
skilled computer opponents. Ace must have a trick up his sleeve in order to
defeat other players and computer opponents who will do their best to win
every time. Developed by Crest.
