GWAVA to Bundle Kaspersky(R) Anti-Virus
MONTREAL, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- GWAVA, the worldwide leader for Novell
GroupWise(R) management and security solutions, announced today that they have
formed a partnership with Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content
management solutions. The partnership will allow GWAVA to bundle Kaspersky(R)
Anti-Virus with the GWAVA scanning engine.
Through this partnership, GWAVA will begin to sell Kaspersky Anti-Virus as
a part of their overall security offering. GWAVA customers will be fully
protected from email viruses. After the 30 day free trial period, companies
will have the option of purchasing Kaspersky Anti-Virus from GWAVA.
GWAVA provides full-scale protection for GroupWise, as the only vendor to
offer internal GroupWise protection from viruses and spam. Because of the
speed at which viruses spread throughout the Internet, companies often do not
provide timely protection from the earliest versions of fast-moving email
viruses. A 2004 study by PriceWaterhouseCoopers found that although 99% of
large British companies use antivirus products, 68% of them were infected by
viruses during the year, mainly because virus signature updates had not been
deployed fast enough. By utilizing Kaspersky Anti-Virus, GWAVA is able to
scan and search the entire GroupWise message store for viruses, including
dormant viruses, at the industry-leading speed.
