Brother Opens New State-of-the-Art Warehouse
NAGOYA, Japan, Nov. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Brother International Corporation
(USA) ("BIC USA"), a sales subsidiary of Brother Industries, Ltd. ("BIL"), has
expanded its Tennessee Distribution Center located in Bartlett, TN in response
to the increasing sales of its information and printing products.
The Tennessee Distribution Center is Brother group's largest distribution
stronghold and deals with all the Brother products, accessories and supplies
that are shipped to all the states in the U.S. (with exception of eight on the
West Coast), and Latin America. It also serves as a customer service base and
provides product technical support, call center services, and more. The
Tennessee Distribution Center plays a crucial role in the USA as a key
facility both in distribution and service operations.
In recent years, BIC USA has seen an increase in its sales of information
and printing devices such as multi-functional products. Accordingly, the
amount of cartons being shipped from the Tennessee Distribution Center in 2004
is expected to increase about one and a half times the number of cartons
shipped in 2000. In response to this growth, Brother made the decision to
expand the 1 million sq. ft. distribution center to ensure additional storage
by building a new 500,000 sq. ft. state of the art warehouse.
