The Conference Board To Hold Asia-Pacific HR Week in Hong Kong April 21-23




    NEW YORK, April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The Conference Board will launch its
Asia-Pacific Human Resources Week 2009 on April 21 with a Talent Management
Masterclass to be followed the next two days with its Asia-Pacific Human
Resources Conference--both in Hong Kong's Cosmopolitan Hotel--on the key
theme of "HR Leadership and Talent Strategies for New Realities."

    The program is being presented with assistance from CCH, iHRM, and the
Center for Creative Leadership.

    The Masterclass begins with the keynote: "Business Analysis and
Implications for Talent Management and People Management" by Thomas D.
Gorman, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief, Fortune China magazine and CCI
Asia-Pacific Ltd.

    "Keeping Costs in Check" will feature Terry Endsor, Head of Human
Resources, Asia Pacific, Citi, who will address the implications for HR
quality; and Ingrun Alsleben, Chief Financial Officer, Bayer HealthCare
Limited, who will address the CFO perspective.

    "Ensuring Excellence in Strategy Implementations" will be discussed by
Brian Walker, Vice President, Human Resources, Walmart; and Warner Krieger,
Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Corporate Communications
(Former), Henkel KGaA--Hong Kong Branch.

    A panel on "Managing Organization Effectiveness" will feature Stewart
Stemple, Managing Director, Ethos International; and Liz Griffin, Director,
People, Far East Area, Ernst & Young.

    The closing keynote, "A Look at the Future," will be delivered by Jeff
Song, President Asia, Ingersoll Rand.

    The Conference Board Asia-Pacific Human Resources Conference, HR
Leadership for a Changing World, will begin on April 22 with a keynote
speech by Philip S. Carmichael, President Asia Pacific, Haier Electrical
Appliances Corp. Ltd.

    A Senior Executive HR Panel on Building HR as a Strategic Capability
will feature David Min, Director, Human Resources, Van Shung Chong
Holdings; Akiko Takahashi, EVP, Chief HR / CSR Officer, Melco Crown
Entertainment; and Michael Norman, Senior Vice President, Sibson.

    Michael Norman, Senior Vice President, Sibson will speak about
leadership readiness during turbulent times.

    "Quantifiable Culture Change: Realizing Engagement through Global
Strategic Recognition" will be addressed by Peter Poulsen, Head of Human

    "Tools and Insights for Achieving Employee Engagement Goals" will be a

    "(Infra-)Structure Follows Strategy: How is this Possible in the
Current Global Payroll Market Environment" will be examined by Christopher
von Mitschke-Collande, Regional Director Asia Pacific, Patersons Asia Pte

    "Technology Platforms of Tomorrow" will feature Jonathan Perrin, Senior
Manager, HR Process and Technology, Asia-Pacific, HSBC.

    "Knowledge as a Competitive Differentiator through Talent Management"
will be examined by John Driscoll, Regional Human Resources Director,
Deloitte-Asia Pacific Regional Office.

    "Innovation and Human Resources" will be addressed by Ellis Ku, Vice
President, LMI Academy.
