Governor Rendell Orders Flags to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of Staff Sergeant Glen H. Stivison Jr.

	    HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Edward G.
Rendell has ordered United States and Pennsylvania flags on state
facilities in the Capitol Complex and in Indiana County to be flown at
half-staff on Saturday, Nov. 21, to honor the memory of U.S. Army Staff
Sgt. Glen H. Stivison Jr., who died while serving on active duty in
Afghanistan.

    "On behalf of all Pennsylvanians, we extend our deepest sympathy to the
family and friends of Staff Sergeant Stivison," said Governor Rendell. "To
coincide with the date of his memorial service in Blairsville, we will
lower the United States and state flags to show our respect for his loyal
service and sacrifice for our country."

    Staff Sgt. Stivison, 34, of Blairsville, Indiana County, died on Oct.
15 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces
attacked his vehicle. He was a 1994 graduate of Blairsville High School,
entered the Army in the fall of 1996, and was a combat engineer.
