New Foreclosure Listings Up 14% Nationwide in March |
Total Number of Foreclosure Listings Steadily Increased by 6 Percent
Month-Over-Month During Q1 2004 Announces Foreclosure.com
BOCA RATON, Fla., April 7 /PRNewswire/ -- According to data released today
by online foreclosure listing service, Foreclosure.com, there were 18,012 new
foreclosed residential properties listed in the U.S. during March 2004, an
increase of 14 percent, or 2,220 properties, as compared to new listings in
February 2004. Overall, the total number of active and pending foreclosure
properties in the United States rose to 62,964, 6.3 percent higher than in
February.
"Nationwide, residential foreclosures have steadily risen in each of the
first three months of this year. However, in the last month we saw a small
spike in new foreclosure listings," said Greg Sullivan, vice president,
Foreclosure.com. "The past month's increases were spread across the country,
with the largest volumes of foreclosures remaining in states such as Michigan,
the Carolinas, Texas, Illinois, Ohio and Indiana. These high volumes indicate
that foreclosures in these areas are a result of generally less favorable
economic conditions."
