GoWare Announces New SMS and Web Capabilities for Its DoMo HomePage Mobile Portal Solution

GoWare partners with 4INFO to add SMS-based content retrieval and sharing
to the DoMo HomePage service, and announces new Web-based management and
                      instant portal creation features

PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- At this week's AlwaysOn
Stanford Summit, an executive gathering that highlights significant
economic, political and commercial trends affecting the global technology
industry, startup GoWare, Inc., announced the addition of several new
capabilities to its DoMo HomePage personal mobile portal service. New
features include Web-based portal management, a tool for loading saved
portals, as well as DoMo HomePage SnapShot, a Short Message Service (SMS)
extension developed in partnership with text messaging technology leader
4INFO (http://www.4info.net) that makes it possible to retrieve and share
content from DoMo HomePage portals without a mobile browser.
DoMo HomePage SnapShot lets users quickly access and share content from
their DoMo HomePage mobile portal through SMS/text message technology. To
access Web or PC content, users send a keyword query to the 4INFO shortcode
(44636) and receive the appropriate content in return. Sharing content with
friends is just as straightforward. The user simply clicks a "send to a
friend" link from within their DoMo HomePage portal and a link to the
content is immediately sent to one or more friends within a text message.
For example, users can send sports scores, news, contacts from Outlook,
movie times and reviews. Anything from the Web or their PC can be mobilized
through DoMo HomePage. SnapShot capitalizes on user acceptance and
familiarity with text messaging to help transition them more effectively
into the WAP environment.
"Through DoMo HomePage we've made it easy for mobile phone users to
access all of their Web and PC content from a single screen on their mobile
phones," said Jason Thibeault, co-founder and CTO of GoWare. "Now we're
making it easier to get up and running and providing even greater
flexibility by offering powerful SMS and Web management capabilities."
The company also announced today new Web-based portal management
capabilities and a saved portal feature for creating DoMo HomePage Portals
instantly. Web-based portal functionality provides Web-management of a
user's portal and synchronization with the PC client (for access to
PC-based applications). DoMo HomePage Web is yet another method offered by
GoWare to help people manage a customized, personalized mobile Web
experience.
Saved portals provide a convenient way to get stated with personalizing
the mobile Web experience by automatically loading categories and content
directly into DoMo HomePage. Users can also load a saved portal into a new
category, thereby creating nested portals to further personalize DoMo
HomePage. When a user creates a saved portal, they can name it, add
keywords, add a description, and upload it to the DoMo HomePage Community
Website for sharing with friends, family, and the entire DoMo HomePage user
base.
The new features will be available on Wednesday, August 8, 2007. DoMo
HomePage is available to the public as part of a free beta trial at
http://www.domohomepage.com.
    About DoMo HomePage
DoMo HomePage takes the frustration out of using the mobile device for
accessing and sharing content from the Web and PC by letting mobile phone
users create personalized mobile portals for convenient delivery of all of
their content through their mobile browsers. Using any browser, DoMo
HomePage makes it possible for users to access a mixture of Web content
(news, blogs, podcasts), PC files (documents, photos), and application data
(Outlook, QuickBooks), quickly and easily from a single screen on their
mobile device. In addition, DoMo includes functionality that allows the
user to share their portal content -- both publicly through a DoMo HomePage
Community site as well as privately via SMS.
"We believe that by creating a positive mobile content experience built
around the explosion of personalization technologies, we provide the
solution that finally makes the mobile Web a reality," said Jason. "DoMo
HomePage makes Websites, services, files and applications accessible from a
mobile device through a single screen and in a format the user chooses.
Convenience and personalization are key to making this mobile technology
truly viable."
At the heart of DoMo HomePage is GoWare's DoMo Platform, a mobile
content delivery and publishing platform that provides developers and
content owners the ability to mobilize their offerings without the
headaches associated with supporting and maintaining a mobile-focused
offering. DoMo's open architecture offers developers the opportunity to add
customized or proprietary content via standard HTML or more complex
dynamic-link libraries (.dll). The DoMo Platform includes a variety of
services including authentication, content acquisition, and content
rendering. It also features a robust messaging engine that enables the
delivery of targeted unobtrusive advertisements and messages into DoMo
HomePage user's portals as well as content rendered through partner
integration of the DoMo Engine.
