Trade Unions' RF Radiation Concerns to be Addressed

RF CHECK Inc. invited to present at National Safety Councils

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Trade Unions' concerns over
radiofrequency radiation (RFR) safety for their members at wireless sites
has steadily grown with the rapid expansion of all things wireless.
Wireless antennas are everywhere with many more to come. Federal, state
and local communication networks are growing more robust with the public's
demand for greater effectiveness in emergency situations and governmental
efficiency. Virtually all government employees and their vehicles are
connected by wireless, even waste collection trucks. More communications
equals more antennas.
Personal and business wireless communications have also dramatically
increased the number of antennas. 240 million Americans now own a cell
phone and tens of millions are also connected to the web by wireless
devices. Currently, estimates of antennas in the United States are placed
at 350,000 to 500,000 and that number could double within the next ten
years.
The RFR safety and health issue for trade union members isn't solely
defined by the vast amount of antennas. Municipalities in increasing
numbers are now demanding the stealthing of antennas from public view.
Although aesthetically pleasing, it removes any visual warning to a
tradesperson of a potential hazard.
"Trade Union members apply their professional skills on structures that
host wireless transmission sites. Fire fighters, electricians, roofers,
painters and others are not trained in RFR safety. As a result, they are
routinely over-exposed to radiofrequency radiation while working near
wireless antennas," states Bob Curtis, RF CHECK's Chief Scientist & EVP of
Federal Compliance and former OSHA national RF technical expert.
RF CHECK's proprietary technology helps remove this hazard to tradesmen
with the implementation of a comprehensive antenna safety program. Trade
union members and others will be trained and certified in RFR safety. In
addition, site specific safety information, including RFR "Maps of the
Invisible" that identify RFR hazard areas, will be issued to workers for
every jobsite hosting any governmental or commercial wireless facility in
the United States.
"RF CHECK has identified a growing area of concern for our nation's
work force and has found a way to mitigate their exposure to RF radiation,"
according to Andrew Seybold, Senior Partner at Andrew Seybold, Inc. "RF
CHECK has developed a system which solves the growing RFR problem in a
sensible and economic manner."
RF CHECK has been invited to present at several major union
conferences, including the International Association of Fire Fighters,
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Communications Workers of
America, and the AFL-CIO's Building and Construction Trades Unions.
RF CHECK Incorporated is a San Diego based wireless technology company
specializing in RF radiation safety and compliance. The company has
invested over $3,000,000 and several years in research and development to
perfect a comprehensive RF safety system for every wireless transmission
site in the United States. RF CHECK is a socially responsible solution in
providing RF radiation safety for all workers and the public. The company
is preparing to launch its comprehensive RF radiation safety and health
system nationwide in the first quarter of 2008.
