LAS VEGAS, June 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Station Casinos, Inc. ("Station" or "the
Company") (NYSE: STN) today announced the formation of GameCast Live, LLC
("GameCast"), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company focused on in-room and
on-premises gambling applications in the casino/resort and cruise line
markets.
"eSlots" is the first in a suite of "live" casino products to be released
by GameCast. This proprietary technology will allow guests to be able to play
their favorite slot or video poker machine live from their hotel room via
interactive TV, thin-client, or personal computer and from a restaurant or by
the pool with a wireless handheld remote. Video and audio streaming will
"connect" the guest to a live slot machine located on the premises as opposed
to the virtual gaming experience offered by existing on-line gaming.
"We are very excited about the potential market for in-room gaming
applications both domestically and internationally," said Glenn C.
Christenson, executive vice president and chief financial officer.
"Initially, we expect to target cruise lines and Native American
casino/resorts with the goal of eventually expanding this service to major
hotel-casino properties in Nevada and other jurisdictions. While the product
is subject to regulatory approval in each gaming jurisdiction, we will begin
marketing eSlots immediately in anticipation of a rollout during 2002."
Representatives of the Company will preview the technology today at the
Global Interactive Summit & Expo in Toronto, Canada with a live demonstration.
A copy of the presentation will be provided in the "Investors" section of the
Company's website at http://www.stationcasinos.com or at http://www.gamecastlive.com.
