WALTHAM, Mass., Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Terra Lycos (NASDAQ: TRLY), the

Lycos 50(TM), the 50 most popular user searches for the week ending July 31,
2004. For a complete list of The Lycos 50(TM) and for in-depth text of The
Lycos 50 Daily Report, go to http://50.lycos.com. Readers of The Lycos 50 can

The Lycos 50(TM) Top 10 Search Terms for the Week Ending July 31, 2004:

    1) Paris Hilton 6) Pamela Anderson
    2) Clay Aiken 7) Poker
    3) Michelle Vieth 8) Brooke Burke
    4) Britney Spears 9) Las Vegas
    5) KaZaA 10) Weight Watchers

    Notes of Interest:
Latin soap opera actress, model and Big Brother Mexico star Michelle Vieth
(#3) is the most recent "celebrity," along with Paris Hilton (#1), Severina
Vuckovic (#15) and Cameron Diaz (#19), to appear in a compromising sex video.
Vieth is now starring in a honeymoon sex tape, which she alleges surfaced on
the Web following her divorce, causing a huge surge in search activity for
Vieth. Meanwhile, Newlyweds co-star Jessica Simpson (#37) is now running
behind little sister Ashlee Simpson (#36), as the younger Simpson surpassed
Jessica in search activity for the first time this week.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas in August:
Christmas (#26) makes its first appearance this year, ranking earlier and
higher than it ever has in the history of The Lycos 50. Last year, Christmas
made its annual debut during the week of August 12, coming in at number 36 and
remaining on the list for 18 straight weeks right up until the week following
December 25. This year, Web users are getting into the spirit earlier than
ever. The top five Christmas-related searches include: Christmas cards,
Christmas trees, Christmas dog collars, Christmas decoration catalogs and
Christmas costumes.

    Star Wars 3:
Also making its debut on this week's list is Star Wars 3 (#48), which
isn't due out in theaters until May 19, 2005. The title for "Star Wars,
Episode 3" was revealed at a comic and sci-fi convention in San Diego last
week, generating enough search activity surrounding the new title for Star
Wars 3 to land on this week's list. "Revenge of the Sith" was announced at
the Comic-Con International by a man got up in front of the 6,000-person crowd
and pulled off a baseball jersey to reveal a black T-shirt with the words
"Revenge of the Sith" on it.
