The Princeton Club, N.Y., N.Y.
NEW YORK, April 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Market News International (MNI), a part
of the news division of Xinhua Finance (TSE Mothers: 9399), today announced
that it will next month host an address in New York by David M. Walker,
Comptroller General of the United States government.
Mr. Walker will address the following topics: current U.S. fiscal
condition, long range fiscal imbalances, and 21st century challenges.
To many, Washington is either ignoring or trying to repeal the laws of
arithmetic when it comes to the national debt and deficits. But David M.
Walker has the numbers, and, as his charts and tables show, time is running
out for this version of American fiscal policy and debt management. Backing
him up are thousands of hours of research by his Government Accountability
Office (GAO). Arithmetic and its grim implications will inevitably bend
Washington policy severely. The only question is how long it takes to sink in.
The non-political and totally credible prediction of what is to come is
something that the credit markets very much need to hear. The nation's chief
accountant, the Comptroller General of the United States, is making a special
visit to Wall Street hosted by MNI. Space is limited so be sure to pre-
register.
Registration will start at 1:00 p.m., EDT.
AGENDA
1:00 - 2:00 Registration

2:45 - 3:30 Question & answer session

The address, the latest in a series of addresses organized by MNI with
senior government officials whose views can have an impact on the financial
markets, will take place on Wednesday, May 18 at the Princeton Club in New
York.
Mike Connor, Managing Director of Xinhua Finance's News Division and MNI
CEO, said he was delighted with the opportunity to host the address by Mr.
Walker.
"MNI has always been committed to providing a channel for information and
transparency between the markets and the regulatory authorities in the United
States and in other territories, and Mr. Walker's comments will be received
with great interest," Mr. Connor said.
