Lucky operates combination stores and supermarkets throughout the state of California, Las Vegas and New Mexico. Lucky is generally #1 or #2 in most of its major markets. In both southern California and northern California, Lucky is expanding its coordination with Sav-on drugs by building Lucky Sav-on combination stores. Lucky positions itself as the everday low price leader in addition to offering competitive promotional discounts. The chain has succeeded in improving the quality of its perishables (produce, meat, seafood, deli) departments in recent years and consistently rates very high by customers in overall value.
